After managing bookstores for 15 years, Meredith decided that she needed a change. She had studied Classical Music, Culinary Arts, and had graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management. She had worked in countless kitchens from New York to Texas, had been a buyer for a Buddhist Meditation catalog, and had worked with many famous people for years in her bookstore life. Her side business, Totally Board, where she created artisanal cheese boards for clients was such fun, but, could she make cheese her life?
Well, the answer was yes. A few years ago, Whole Foods Market hired her for their Career Development Program (a program for leaders that come from outside WFM), and she has never looked back. Meredith received her CCP (Certified Cheese Professional) title in 2015 and cheese continues to be her passion. In 2016, she was chosen by the ACS (American Cheese Society as an official cheesemonger for their annual conference in Des Moines.
Currently, she leads the Specialty Team at Whole Foods Market in Wellesley, MA. And continues to work closely with the Massachusetts Cheese Guild, an organization that promotes and supports local cheesemakers. She will be sitting for her Introductory Sommelier Exam in October.
Meredith is the mother of 2 Standard Poodles, 1 cat, 9 hens, a crazy rooster, and a 21 year son.
