President & Chief Operating Officer
Robert Bradshaw is president and chief operating officer of Cape Classics, the premier importer of South African wine to the United States. Mr. Bradshaw joined the importer in January of 2009 as chief operating officer, and became president in October 2010. He leads the company’s operations and growth strategy for the 18 estates it represents; growing Cape Classics to bear its seal on 35% of all bottled South African wine available in the US. In addition, he develops synergistic relationships with wineries to create new brands and identify new sales opportunities.
Prior to joining Cape Classics, Mr. Bradshaw was a senior buyer and national category leader for Trader Joe’s, one of America's most influential food and wine retailers. In this position he planned and executed strategy for a $750M per annum wine and beer business, widely considered one of the nation’s largest. Mr. Bradshaw was responsible for expanding business with breweries and wineries across five continents.
Academically he holds an undergraduate degree from Eastern Nazarene College and an MBA from Suffolk University’s Sawyer Business School, recently named a top 100 business schools by the Financial Times. In 2005 he was elected to the Suffolk University/Sawyer Business School EPAC (Executive Program Alumni Counsel) and is currently helping to pioneer Suffolk’s first Executive MBA mentoring program.
He has achieved the level of Certified Sommelier by the Court of Master Sommeliers as well as Master of Beer Styles and Evaluation from the Siebel Institute. Mr. Bradshaw also holds a Certificate of International Negotiation from Grenoble Ecole De Management in Paris, France. He continues to pursue innovative leadership strategies that can help facilitate growth and the success of others both personally and professionally.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Robert Bradshaw currently resides in Fairfield, CT with his family.
